cheers all for the positives...its really great to see you all discussing this , like i said i had to keep it under wraps , one thing i would like to say is i approached this as an enthusiastic bongo owner , not a carpetbagger  ...my own reluctance to replace my hoses made me realise others must be in the same boat...i.e .i wont bother until i get a leak ...which we all know could spell disaster...purely down to the fact that they were so expensive and alternatives were zero.....one thing i would like to know is how many people want them ....but i understand your reluctance until the price is known...

Nothing wrong with converting enthusiasm into a business idea - its what enterprise culture is all about, and those of us who don't have the 'oomf' to do it ourselves benefit from a valuable new product. If we don't think its valuable, we don't have to buy it!

Depending on the state of my £ I'd probably be up for the ones Sue mentions. Since clear doesnt seem to be an option (didn't really expect it to be but it's a great idea from a diagnostic point of view) I'd probably go for black so as my Bongo doesnt start looking like a 'bitsa'.

Well done again flippa

Yes i would prob be interested in the main hoses that cause all the probs, and possibly some others .but like you said it does depend on price, but got to be the pretty blue for me.

cheers mike ....believe me the oomph ...in my case does not come naturally  .....dave blue ....no probs....i had guessed at blue (water) been the most popular color... and it makes up the bulk of the order ......the clear idea is interesting i will ask

I would guess its theoretically possible to make clear but probably not obtainable as no-one has generated demand (yet). Its a bit like see through PC cases - who'd have thought people would start seeing the inside of a PC as a 'designer' thing. I should think you could even get a tint in it (mind you the beauty of colourless is that if coolant is in good nick it should show green in the hose etc.)

JUST A THOUGHT if you had clear hoses how long would they stay clear ,the water would eventually stain the inside of the hose thus making a clear hose opaque or even stained , and not be able to see the coolant inside.

You are right of course Dave. Its possible that might not happen, but it would be best to assume it would. But if clear hoses were available, I'd love to try it out even so. It could be argued that if they ever start to look other than - say - green (healthy coolant) and become stained with rust, that you should (have) change(d) the coolant. A use once only warning system

i suppose you could have just one hose clear ,any easy one to see when you open the bonnet, and if it does get stained and your unable to see ,it could be changed for another clear one.

I'd be interested as well, but as has been said before it depends on cost.
Heres another thought on colour use the red for the hot hoses and the blue for the return cold feed?

sorry the clear bit was a joke really..... just threw it in as a nonsense.....

but was surprised someone thought even more out of the box than me.... and found a real positive from my ramblings....I did think.... when would you ever see it!!

I have on my bike, a lennies induct, which is a better made air induction tube to the airbox, for my bike it only comes in carbon...... the only person who sees it, is me.... when I service the bike......
I admit it is lovely, a really nice weave..... and sooooo light... (but on a BMW!!! so again pointless)

what I'm saying is I reckon black is as good a colour as any.....

but can you give me the price on blue

I could be interested in the hoses, if I start having problems with the originals, and like everone else, it's going to be a matter of cost, as to which hoses to go for.

As for colour, anything but black. I could be wrong, but I feel It would make it easier to follow/track the hoses, in amunst all the other engine "bits and bobs," (techical term  ) and it would also look pretty.
Also if just doing one pipe at a time, if available as separates, It would make it easier to see which hose/s you've already changed, and which hose/s you need too. Especiallly usefull if you have a memory like mine. #-o

Thats enough of a random ramble for now! :-#

All the best in your venture, flippa.

Flippa? Have you a rough ballpark figure for a set of hoses yet? I'm guessing £200? for a complete set...Has the manufacturer dropped any clues at all? I.m up for a complete set of blue hoses if the price is no more than £200 (ish)

A few points spring to my mind:

They need to be a good bit cheaper than Mazda to persuade me to get a full set rather than the odd Mazda one as required.

Why on earth would they need testing? They are silicone hoses from a silicone hose manufacturer - if they fit they are going to work for years. Once it is established they fit easily (shape diameter) I would sell them with confidence.

You can get colours other than black? Still, lifes rich tapestry and all that.

I think the hoses have to be pressure tested before they can sell them ,safety issues and all that PC crap.
