Front n/s indicator light stays on

Post by aitch » Thu Nov 01, 2007 5:12 pm

when locking the Bongo the indicators all flash twice, when unlocking they flash once. At times whilst locking her up the near side front indicator stays on until I unlock and re-lock again any ideas whats gone wrong? it only does this now and again.
Be nice to everyone they might be nice back.

The original Bongo Mazda fitted central locking does not interact with the lights so you must have an after-market system fitted.

strange one
if it was a sticky relay would`nt both front and rear indicator stick on ??
how is the aftermarket central locking wired in ??

most wire it into the hazard circuit to flash the lights, then surely if the aftermarket unit was faulty all four indicators would stay on

i take it you have tried changing bulbs cleaning contacts on the light fittings that sort of thing
giving it a whack with a big hammer

It sounds a bit like a "look at me there is something amiss" type warning from the alarm...

Have you any instructions/manual for the alarm Aitch?

Try looking at the troubleshooting section if you have any.

As Pippin mentioned it is an aftermarket system. I would check the alarm and new wiring first. They usually arent installed very well so you will probably have to improve a few bits and pieces to get the solution.

thanks for all the replies I have no instructions for the alarm I thought it was a standard fitting so will spend some time this weekend looking at all the wires. Will report on progress when I achieve anything useful for others. 8)
