Heater/fan not working

Post by trappitt » Tue Oct 30, 2007 9:56 pm

My fan in the front heater does not work. I have checked the fuses which look ok. The A/c light and rear fan work when the front switch is on setting 1 but front one does not blow on any setting at the moment.

Please does anyone have any ideas?!?!?

Cheers

Have a look at http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... hp?t=15511. Similar problem & we found that water had got into the fan causing it to seize up that then blew the resistor pack. All fixable with suitable parts & tools.

hi I had the same problem. the fan was locked solid I got a new fan on ebay (£90). This was not the end to my problems there is a resistor under the bonnet right in the middle on top of the air intake you can see the wires going in to it. You need to take it out & resolder the six tabs three on each side. (Or by a new one about £50) there is a fact sheet for this on this website and it is very good.

hope this helps cheers Pat :

It sounds like as the motor begins to seize/drag extra load is placed onto the resistor in the switch...it seems the two problems go hand in hand  As Missfixit rightly points out,the drain hole under the bonnet needs to be kept clean, these clog up really easily, especially this time of year as the leaves start to fall....
