Hampshire Immobiliser Fitters

Post by Timster2005 » Sun Oct 28, 2007 6:38 pm

Have just bought a Bongo, lovingly christened 'Bongolina' last weekend with a pint of beer in the back while parked on the driveway! :D Now the fun really starts... :D But first things first - can anyone recommend a supplier & fitter of Thatcham approved immobilisers in the Hampshire or surrounding area that won't cost the earth?? The TOAD mobile installation service seems a bit steep at 200 quid. :?

Hi Timster

Congratulations on you Bongo adoption and christening. It's worth trying the search facility, type in - Thatcham and imobiliser - that will bring up the threads, then try Google Maps, click 'Find businesses' and put in vehicle alarm fitters or something similar, then your town in the next box, Bingo.

The price quoted seems about right for a Thatcham imobilser, but there ae some alternatives in the links, I've used a battery isolator for years, £10, but it will probably depend on what your insurance company want.

Thanks Bob, will keep looking. Insurance company wants Thatcham approved so guess we'll have to fork out a bit more...

Just had a thought (it hurt!)
Does the immobiliser fitter have to be a Mazda specialist? Seems like a silly question but it still needs asking.

Worth checking out the insurance companies listed on this site, mine's through Tett Hamilton, who as brokers will check with several companies, but again try the search facility, my fully comp. is less than you have been quoted for the immobiliser, but it will depend on your postcode.

good luck.

I wouldn't have thought so, better with an alarm//immobiliser specialist.

Try your local ICE specialists - they usually do immobilisers as well. Normal price seems to be £90 for a basic thatcham immob.

Many thanks for your reply. Have 'googled' Technie but can't find any details for them, nor are they listed on yell.com. Do you have any contact details for them by any chance?

Try Peter Earley on 07931 830317. Tell him that Steve Dill-Russell from the I fit stuff forum gave you his number.

He's in the Winchester area and specialises in Security

Thanks for your replies. Peter Earley now retired but a chap called Jamie has taken over from him and supplies & fits Thatcham approved immobilisers. His number is 07907 752535.
