Help I bought a P reg last month and had it serviced yesterday the guy who serviced said it needed a lot of work -shit!! I rang the garage I got the bongo from and asked if the following were covered under the warrenty he said no- but challenged the following fault " Track rod ends damaged and leaking-both need changing" the garage I bought from said they can't leak -who do I believe???

Track rods ends cannot leak - they are packed with grease and don't get anywhere near hot enough to melt it. The only time anything would show is if the rubber covers had disintegrated (highly unlikely!!)
Try another garage because that is a blatant lie that even the newest apprentice would know about.

Worn Flayrod Spiggotts perhaps.

Got to disagree there franco - they will leak grease if the rubber is split...............

Agreed Dandy, but it's got to be quite a bad split and is unlikely to happen to both at the same time. I've had to replace them on several vehicles over the years and never had more than the merest trace of grease when the rubber has perished.
I'm wondering if they really meant CV gaiters?
