Hi All,
This has probably been asked before, but i couldn't find it in search-
When I open the roof it groans as if it needs greasing or oiling, and is quite jerky when it gets close to fully open. What should I use to free it up a bit and where should I stick it?
Cheers.

In the Search facility type in "Groaning AND Roof" then you will come up with the following threads.

I splashed out a WHOLE FIVER
for a can of spray on white grease with P.T.F.E. for the sole purpose of lubricating the roof mechanism.
It seemed great at the time, i managed three erections in just a couple of minutes, with none of the groans or creaks that i had before
But...the next time i felt the need to erect the groans had returned...
But the mechanism had since been exposed to the rain and drizzle, which i think had made the ram a bit dry.
I'll re-apply and see how i get on... WD40 is very good, but i think it can attract a fair amount of dirt sometimes.

Spray -on white grease , as already stated, and wipe the piston rods with a paper towel SOAKED in silicon spraylube...don't spray direct,
And spend the next 15 mins trying to get the silicon off your fingers(or wear gloves if you are short of time)
The above works a treat.
Cheers
