I think I need a new starter battery and need some guidance on what to buy. I notice that Bongo Fury has 95 and 105 a/h for sale but I contacted a local battery supplier and was told that he sells 70a/h to Bongos at £65.
Which size should I go for?
Is there a code / number I need to give to a supplier for the right battery?
Is one make better than another?
Anyone know of a good supplier near Poole?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Darryl.
Oh - my Bongo is unconverted and I don't have a leisure battery fitted.

Get as big as poss - I think 70ah is too small for real comfort though it will work fine when new etc.
I got a well priced 105Ah posted to me next day by batmanuk (track 'em down on the web) when mine went soon after Bongo purchase.

Thanks for the info - I should have said I have a 2.5 desiel.
Mike - I have looked at batmanuk's web site and he has 1 battery listed for a Bongo (ref 249 @ £73 standard/£78 heavy duty + vat) but doesn't list the size. Can you remember what you bought?
Cheers

I'd have to look it up, but size measurement (i.e. will it fit) is about all that matters and I think I phoned them anyway to make the order and I'm guessing I asked them for confirmation it would fit at that point. My memory is so poor these days I cant remember. If you need me to, reply to this note and I'll take a look under my bonnet and take details off the battery.

Cant remember Griff, also have a niggling feeling it was a 95Ah I got as although I fancied a 105Ah from Ian I needed it next day and he couldnt do that.

You can get either in standard or heavy duty. Get the biggest amp hr you can. For the little extra you will get stronger starting and it will last longer. The physical size will not be a issue.
