Hi
I'm just about to buy a Bongo that has a speedo chip fitted and am going to fit a Maxda 626 speedo in place of the chip.
When the chip was fitted the speedo read 80,000km and it now reads 107,000
Which means the vehicle has done 80,000km plus 27,000miles which totals about 77,000miles altogether.
Is it ok and legal to fit a new speedo and set it to 77,000miles? The current MOT certificate reads 106,000 so am I going to have trouble when I next MOT the vehicle?
Thanks

One of the many reasons why I always tell people not to pay too much attention to the mileometer when buying a 10 year old vehicle.haydn callow wrote:I don't think it matters what your mileage says. It's not part of the MOT and many vehicles have new/2nd hand speedo's fitted at some time in there lives.
