2 things....

Post by meek.tv » Tue Oct 23, 2007 12:13 am

gave the inside of the bongo a good scrub ont he weekend (first time, havent had it for long) when i was puling all the carpets out for a hoover this fell out from somewhere....

....any ideas what its for or where its from? it might not even be off the bongo but then again it might be the only thing holding the wheels to the corners for all i know

secondly, had a look at the top of the aft and noticed a few scuffs which seem to be explosing a bit of fiberglass......

does this need sorting to keep it waterproof? gaffa tape will come out for now but are there fibreglassing kits or something that id need to do a small diy repair job?

The fibreglass damage is just from air bubbles in the original moulding. You could seal it up with a bit of resin but you might just make a bigger mess. I thinka bit of grey filler neatly applied would be the easiest fix.

The plastic sheild in my engine bay is held in place with only one of these special clips, two are required. Has anyone ever sourced replacements from other Mazda models in their local breakers yard?

That pretty much sums it up but I wouldn't worry about the filler too much. The bumper filler is for plastics and the roof is fibre glass. A standard filler is compatible with fibre glass. You can make a body filler from epoxy resin and a binding agent (chalk I think?). Mike is spot on about not leaving it over winter.
