Could someone please tell me the correct torque for a 2.5TD head bolts. Ta

The manual says 29 Nm. It also specifies the order they should be tightened in - too complicated to describe here, but broadly speaking start in the middle and work out.

Gordon,

The sixteen main bolts should be tightened to 29Nm, then after marking with tippex or something similar, they should be tightened through a further 90-105 degrees, then again through a further 90-105 degrees. I only did then through 90 degrees each time.

The two small bolts at the front wil strip at this torque and should be tightened to only 19Nm.

Also NEVER reuse a head bolt - they're designed to stretch beyond their elastic limit and only once.
Always fit new ones.
