Exhaust vacuum pump images?

Post by Jammy » Mon Oct 08, 2007 4:02 pm

Greetings all.

I have recently aquired a bongo (SGL5) which has some minor problems I have been fixing.

I now have one with the exhaust vacuum pump, or perhaps it is called something else, either way it is the Mazda part number: 18741C which has several small vacuum pipes coming from it. 2 of mine have broken stems and the pipes are hanging loose. I have downloaded the diagrams from http://www.mazdafamilia.ru/ and it would appear that some of the other vacuum pipes are incorectly routed too.

I am now confused as to which pipe goes where.

Does anyone have a photo of the four pumps showing where their respective tubes/pipes should go?

Regards
James

Are you talking about the vacuum pump it's down the
front of the engine or the vacuum selanoids that are
along the side of the engine and control the engine
speed when cold and things like air con are turned on?

plastic things with wires going to them.

Solenoids

They are near the top of the engine towards the rear on the drivers side.

Must be the solenoids.

I just need a photo showing the pipe routing, so I can match it to mine.

Cheers

Hi Jimmy

PM me with you e-mail address and I will send u some of
mine if u want but mine may not be as it should be as
it had broken valves and I modified it using the cold
start system for the exhaust, the front one the one with the
white plug is the most useful it controls the tick over speed
when cold and if you turn the air con on.
Cant get my head round how to post pics on here.
