Replacing Front Fog Lamp bulb - Help Please!!!!!

Post by Blue Pearl » Fri Oct 05, 2007 11:36 pm

One of my front fog lamps isn't working, so presume it is a blown bulb. Thought this would be a nice simple job...... ahhh wrong ...... or just me being stupid...probably? The lamps have been fitted in Japan, and the documentation looks as though they are factory fitted extras.
There are 2 small screws either side of the fog lamp by accessing from behind the unit and getting under the vehicle. These seemed to release the front part of the unit to presumably access the bulb. The problem is the front only moves a small distance forward before hitting the black plastic insert in the bumber. So I took out the 4 screws holding the plastic plate in place hoping to slide this out of the way and leave a larger hole for the front of the foglight to slide out of, but the plate can't be removed because of the foglamp itself  . Almost looks like the whole bumber has to come off, which is ridiculous for changing a simple bulb.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Cheers

hi there ian if fog lights are origonal ones ie, oblong ones then the removment of bulbs very easy all you do is take off the big round rubber cover at the back and then eh presto you can get at the bulb and replace it :)

if you could post a piccie of it then would be more help if not the same as mine

In the middle on the back of ours are black plastic
covers, these have 3 screws it looks like you loosen
the screws and then turn the plastic cover this then
comes off to get at the bulb not tried it but cant see
any other way, I take it ours are not factory fit.

Post by You've Been Bongod » Tue Oct 09, 2007 8:25 pm

hi ian by the looks of the photos you will have to take the fog light off and then undo the side screws to access the bulb !!!!!!!!!!!!!
but be careful when fitting new bulb not to touch the bulb glass otherwise it will blow the bulb
