Damage to doors / parking knocks / side protection
Hi there,
I notice that I keep getting paint marks and small dents on my doors
when using car parks. Its not that the Bongo is particularly wide, its just
clumsy persons opening their doors into mine.
Lots of other vehicles have rubber / plastic strips horizontally down the side to prevent this damage. Has anyone found a solution for the Bongo.
In the meantime I'm paranoid about where I park !

Being a large flat sided vehicle unfortunately the Bongo is prone to this. All I do is just be carefull where I park but I do loose my temper when some careless b----d decides to open his or her door on it.Why are some people so bloody ignorant???
I dont think there is a solution to this unless you make the Bongo look unsightly with big strips of rubber down the sides.
To Me its a fact of Bongo ownership at some stage its going to get dinted one of these days ill catch someone in the act

Be careful with that one because in some council car parks you will get a ticket for taking up more than one bay.

Or park in the disabled bay as that has a bit more room.
.....JOKE!...
I meant, park in the parent and child space
(i jest of course) Try to apply a little logic to your parking... Dont park next to bangers,or anything that looks like a company car.
My bongo is peppered with minor car park dings too
Short of wrapping the bongo up in cotton wool,i suspect you may just have to chance the odd dent here and there
I agree with dabs, rubbing strips down the length of the bongo would look as bad as the dents IMO.

Wow thanks for all the replies, and for the welcoming note Dabs.
One monor victory on this: They are repainting wider lines
in our work car park, because when I spoke up, lots of others
complained too.
In the meeting there was an ex Air Commodore who was named as worst door basher. Wot ho !
Thankfully he's leaving soon.
Company car, just like you said Bigdaddycain !
I'm trying a Polish company I found on ebay at the mo, I'll spread the word if it comes to anything.
All the best
Chris
Freda 2WD that has a tendancy to go sideways in the wet !
PS Thanks to Ian for the spare tyre access advice, I was really foxed.
