Flashing Hold

Post by floydster » Thu Sep 27, 2007 11:25 pm

What does it mean when the hold light flashes along with the speedo not working? Everything functions as normal after turning the ignition off and back on. Also, this has only happened twice but each time it occurred after driving over grass.

Has your speedo been chipped to show MPH instead of KPH? If so its prob the answer. Fixes range from ensuring good connections at the back of the speedo itself or a new speedo converter.

Dirt and rain getting to the gearbox speed sensor? Clean it up with a switch cleaner spray.

The speed sensor itself.

Lots of info on the forum on this subject. Just try a search.

Hope this helps

I had exactly the same thing happen to me yesterday .I have a 626 MPH speedo which has been fine for the last 2000 miles.
I think that it is due to loose connections at the back of the speedo - - or the speedo sensor - will try cleaning the switch as suggested .
Grass? , well ,might be that the uneven ground / vibration lshowed up a dodgy connection try going over a speedbump to see if that has the same effect!! :)

Its probably one of the (3?) connections to the back of the speedo from the chip... (a small black box, attached by wires)

Whip the connections off,and give them all a good clean....

That should do the trick

Thanks folks. My speedo has been chipped so it looks like something else to add to the weekend jobs list.
