Wiper / Indicator stalks

Post by roosteruk » Tue Sep 11, 2007 8:38 pm

Has anyone ever swapped these over onto opposite sides?
I have never owned a vehicle with the wipers on the left and indicators on the right and also having a works van, I will be buggered trying to wipe the windows and let people know which way I am going !!!

After two years I still use the wipers to show i`m turning a corner and indicate when it`s raining and then just to add insult to injury I now do the same in the wifes Fiesta

I've never heard of them being swapped around, or, if there is an equivalent that will fit, i doubt it very much, as even dedicated "uk spec" japanese vehicles still retain the stalks in this configuration.

You do realize that even if you did manage to swap em over, you'd still get it wrong,as the subconcious part of your brain is telling you that it's the other way round,i bet you get it right 95% of the time without even realizing.

Solved this one by pure fluke. Bought an old Merc W124 and the indicator is the same side as the Bongo!!

Mind you when I drive my sons cars, both manual golfs, I cause mayhem by indicating with the wipers and juddering to a halt at junctions 'cos I forgot to put my foot on the clutch!!!!
