Coolant Leak ???

Post by BongoGH » Mon Sep 10, 2007 5:15 pm

I have got a hissing of air after a journey. Its coming from the drivers side underneath. What could this be. Its a very musty smell. I have just returned from the lake district ????

Had the same problem a while ago.

You are probably low on water,,,, and that will be very expensive if you dont top-up

Id have all the hoses checked and bloody quick!!!

If it smells musty its coolant from somewhere thats turned to steam.

Thanks guys. Its the hose under the drivers seat that goes into the block. Fortunately the temp did not hit the roof as i only did a short journey when I heard the hissing. Its worn cos its rubbed. The next Q is where do i get a replacement from ???

after fitting new hose make sure you bleed the system properly. It would also be a good idea to change any other suspect hoses at the same time.
