keep locking myself in

Post by caznsue » Wed Sep 05, 2007 8:09 am

hello all,

just a quickie,

i went away in the bongo at the weekend and when i was off up to bed i had the side door open and i wanted to lock all the doors as the site we were on was very rough!!! to say the least.....so i locked the doors by the central locking from the drivers side, as i had the side door open at the time i thought this would lock all the others but not the side door,

well i got that one wrong.....in the morning i could not open the door up....so had to climb over the seats and open the passenger door and the open the side door from the outside....are you all keeping up with me.....

is there a way i can lock it all up but still beable to open big door from inside....i wanted the tailgate locked too.....

thinking about it....it would of been nice to of locked the whole lot up but still get out from the inside...........what am i doing wrong.......

answers on a postcard please.......

You should be able to open the side door, leaving the other doors centrally locked by lifting the locking button on the side door then opening the door using the inside handle.

Hi caznsue,

I suspect that the two are unconnected. If you lock the doors with the central locking, but one door is open, that door will not lock. You will be able to close or open it from either inside or outside. If you cannot open the sliding door from the inside, I suspect you have inadvertantly knocked the child-lock on.

If you lock the doors with the central locking, all the doors that are closed at the time will lock, but you can open any of them from inside by pulling its button up, unless of course the child lock is on.

Sounds like the child-lock is on

We lock the van whilst over-nighting, and only have to lift the lock on the sliding door when we want to get out - the only time we couldn't was when the childlock was still on - then we had to climb over

Happy Bongoing!
