cooling system

Post by glenn » Mon Sep 03, 2007 1:21 pm

New Bongo just been towed home by recovery service with a failed cooling system. The metal pipe leading from radiator to engine has a hole in it.

Can anyone recommend where i could get a repacement or repair.

Does anyone now of a good garage in leeds that can be recommended for working on Bongos.

I thougfht i might have a bit longer time to find a good mechanic but been a bit unlucky

New? From a dealer or private? If the former then take it back.

A Mazda dealer could probably source one for you, Bongobits or try the Partfinder service in the members area.

A workaround would be to saw the pipe just after the hole and replace with a piece of flexible pipe and a couple of jubilee clips. Remember to refill and bleed the system thoroughly. There are plenty of threads on here to explain how and why.

See this link http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... hp?t=13348 but when you ring around, you ask for the 'metal pipe to engine', not the 'Top hose, Radiator to metal pipe'. You could also ask the Leeds section for a garage recommendation, they would have more local knowledge.

Allans Garage retired. Try PGS (Plymouth Garage Services) or Mayflower Auto Services Plymouth

So even if i were to replace all of the rubber pipes there are still the metal ones to look out for  Mine is a 1995 so chances are that I will suffer the same fate at some stage

Simply scroll down on the opening FORUM page until you come to UK groups. Then click Yorkshire, and ask the good folk there if they have any contacts locally.
