My mates just bought a van, he will be joining the club soon.
He drove it back from derbyshire to stockport no problem.
next day it overheated and needed lots of water for no apparent reason.
no heater controls had been moved (ie from hot to cold). So no reasonable explantion.
It now looks ok, not lost anymore water, but worryingly overheating smell,
so he is twitching a bit. No oil in water and no evidence of water in the oil.
Any suggestions Duncan

sound advice
if your pals planning on keeping it and he ,s planning to do his own maintanance on it then nows probably the time to get to know it......if you have overheated then something is up
....read the factsheet on coolant/ draining /refilling....take off the undercover when looking for leaks ....as you can easily miss the water pump leaking.....don,t waste the new coolant till you have found the leak .....tell him to sign up and ask plenty of questions ....good luck ...i hope you crack it(oops)
