A new member ...i just love my bongo until ............
Please can anybody help!!! Was away at weekend and set the bongo roof up as usual no problems but ....... when we tried to put roof down nothing happened. My boyf tried everything checking the handbrake and there was no power going through. We ended up lowering the roof (by taking things off) but it didn't come down completely and ended up with a 3 hour drive with that bloody beeping noise!!
really appreciate any advise or ideas.
Thanks

May be obvious, but lots forget to push the unlock button in the roof, pull the handbrake fully on, or select Park.
I've had this problem a couple of times and never did find the answer - it just suddenly worked
The first time was at a Bongo meet and several of us tried to fix it - just about to give up and it came down. Second time was in my drive - it was a nice night so I left it up overnight - bl**dy thing went straight down in the morning.

Thanks heaps, i'll get him to try it tomorrow.
Fingers crossed it works. He has taken parts off (to get the roof down), pulled wires out (to stop the beeping) I just hope it works. If not, would anybody be able to recommend a good place to take it to get fixed wither in the portsmouth or essex area?
we are going away in couple of weeks and really wanna take the beast rather than a tent!
Thanks again.

Had the same problem locked in the up position...
Hand brake on, in park, and pressing the unlock button...everthing you need to do...
SO i thought i needed to take off the motors and pull down manually the way the bongo book describes..
But as i unscrewed the motors i thought to myself, do the actual motors work?
So with BOTH the motors disengaged from the mounting points but WITH the electric plug still connected i operated the rooof as normal....And with my amazement BOTH the motors worked....
YOu can understand at this point i was a little confused, why wasnt it working!!!
The only thing myself and a friend could think off is the motors past the micro switches ( you can see about 3 of them along the guide rails) too far and somehow locked in the up position or the one or both of the motors may have just sticked!!!
At this point we just basically reattached the motors in their original postions and the roof lowered as normal....
So it IS a possibility that the motors just do occaionally just stick!!!
Good luck...
