CD PLAYER NOT WORKING
hI mY cd PLAYER TAKES DISCS BUT ON THE SCREEN IT JUST SAYS TRACK AND SOMEHOW SEEMS TO BE CONNECTED TO MY RADIO, THESE ARE TWO SEPERATE UNITS.
I WOULD NOT BE SUPRISED IF THEY ARE THE ORIGINAL SO I AM THINKING OF REPLACING THEM WITH A MORE MODERN SYSTEM CAN ANY ONE PROVIDE ANY TIPS:-
ON WHAT SYSTEM TO GO FOR?
WHAT DIN PLUGS ARE THERE ON THE CURRENT SYSTEM DO I HAVE TO DO ANY REWIRING TO FIT A NEW SYSTEM?
HOW DO I GET THE OLD SYSTEM OUT WITHOUT DAMAGING THE DASH?
ANY ASSISTANCE PROVIDED IS APPRECIATED.
THANKS
SHANE

Hi Shane.
It is too late at night for me to delve into the archives to find the information.
But, do have a look at the FAQ section above to figure out how the SEARCH function of the forum works.
There is simply masses and masses of information already on here about fitting new audio gear into a Bongo.
This includes details on the DIN adaptor leads required.
Try inputting:
radio AND new
radio AND fitting
for starters.
Hope this helps.

If you have the lift up back seats then start by taking them out. After that just carefully pull off the panel. It is retained by lots of pop fastners that can break so take your time. By all accounts it's quite an easy job. You will find the speakers are fastened to the body rather than the trim. If you can put the new ones in the same way you will get a better sound. Fastening them to the trim loses some quality as the trim moves as well as the cone. Speakers need as rigid a mounting as possible to get the best out of them.
