aut gearbox fluid

Hi...searched on the forum and not a great deal of luck finding the info..

I know you have to fill /empty the auto gearbox fluid at the dipstick and i understand that there is a missprint of MIII in the manual..

It is D3..but what is D3? Is this dexron 3? I have been told by a regular machanic of mine that dexron type 3 is the latest auto transmission fluid to use.....

Yes, Dextron 3 is the right grade.
