Waxoyl by a Garage
I've been following the DIY waxoyl thread with interest, its something I definitely want to do to mine but I'm not confident enough to do it myself. I note Bell Hill Garages offer this service and from Swindon they're not too far. I really want this done properly, has anyone used them? If so, did they do a good job and how much was it?
Cheers!

Waxoil by a garage
Hi
We also want to get this done but can't undertake it ourselves. We phoned Bell Hill yesterday and they told us that because Bongos are so good they don't do any prep. work themselves, they merely apply the waxoil. Costs £150 + VAT. So we are still looking for someone who will do the complete job, ie prep as well as application.
We found a site specialising in classic cars and landrovers who undertake waxoiling based in the Newbury area; so far our email re cost etc remains unanswered. We've heard that quite a number of firms undertake waxoiling but don't remove remove such things as the spare wheel beforehand which is no good to anyone and what is the point of waxoiling over accumulated gunge and rust? Enquiries to garages in the Southampton area we've used in the past have all said that waxoiling, like undersealing, is a thing of the past and nobody does it anymore. We are still hopeful of finding somone who is prepared to do it and if they do it well we will post the details on the forum.

When I enquired he told me he has the bongo for the day as he cleans all the underside first then when happy waxoils it
a day out in plymouth is a good way to spend your time while getting it done too

Has anybody had their bongo waxoiled by Imperial? If so, meaningful comments/assessment would be welcomed. (by pm if necessary)
(Getting really twitchy about the perils of not have the bongo waxoiled - am I being paranoid?)

Yea right! Wonder what all these Bongo waxoiling garages and classic car companies have been doing then!?! I'd get it done and have peace of mind. I didnt fight shy and spent £400 on a specialist job at Chassis Clean in Cheshire - very happy with it indeedEnquiries to garages in the Southampton area we've used in the past have all said that waxoiling, like undersealing, is a thing of the past and nobody does it anymore

Bongeezer, their site is:

You should be able to get Gerry on either number, but he is quite busy; if you do get a price, do let me know, as it's a job that mine may need (will know tomorrow as I'm collecting tonight)
Good Luck
