temp gauge fluctuation!

after having a major air block removed my temp gage now fluctuates.it takes 20-30 mins to move off the c then only goes around quarter mark and slowly drops back before moving back up.before air lock it stayed around half way.......can someone help please. :cry:

Not sure why it is behaving that way :?: perhaps you have a faulty wire connection.

If the airlock caused overheating, you could have a thermostat jammed in the open position.

Hi Aid, 11 o clock is the usual position for a bongo temp guage,is yours more like 10.30 ish? If your bongo was reading half way before the airlock, then something was amiss...

It should start registering within five minutes at this time of year.

About ten minutes in winter time.

I'd be tempted to re-bleed the system.

I agree that with a new stat, guage should register 11 o clock within 5 mins :wink: If you fit a new stat, you will have to re-bleed :wink:

thanks guys.another trip to the garage then as not too sure how to bleed it properly.know where the pipe is and that i need to run back and front heaters on hot but thats it.i'm useless with motors lol
