Rap for Low water alarm

After I made enquiries about this product on here I ended up getting one and installing. Initially I had teething problems but will say that was INSTALLER error. No problem at all with the product. I now carry my sign (from Friday funnies)

My trip down south at about Miles and punching along the hwy this alarm snaps me to attention, so pull over (another story) check everything and find the top rear radiator hose clamp was slowly unwinding and a slow leak had started. Out comes the lock tight, clamp tightened, reservoir filled.

So I can highly recommend one it may be the saving of a cooked motor.

The product is Engine Saver Low Water Alarm, they are a advertiser on this site. I feel a rap should be given of a great product.

Lets face it guys and gals. This product means you don't have to drive around being paranoid about the state of your hoses (ooooh matron!) or - alternatively - inspecting them all at boringly regular intervals, knowing you wont identify a pin prick in any case (small pricks are hard to see and you cant tell if they are leaking

). Instead, you get a really good feeling when you are driving (oooooh matron, not again, and so soon!).

The low coolant alarm, with its little chirp and the flash of its LED on the dash as I switch on and start up, is my kind of bling bling. Worth every penny.

Temp gauge on mine's been a bit sticky the last week or so, drops to zero go round another bend and it pops back up again, so pleased we fitted our haydyn alarm

belt and braces !!

to papa joe when I first got my bongo the temperature gauge worked intermitently turned out to be stuck thermostat.Again would also add what a great piece of kit the low coolant detector is and how worthwile the effort of fitting the LED adjacent to the temperature gauge is

Papa joe...if it is a sticking thermostate that is giving you these readings I would investigate sooner rather than later. The coolant loss alarm will not be effective in this case. This is one case where the Temp sending system could be the thing to have.
Whatever you do I would find out the reason for the gauges behavior. It could just be a faulty connection. Where did you put the coolant alarms LED. Did you disturbe somthing behind the instrments??

Doesn't appear to be any dodgy connections and pretty confident nothing disturbed while fitting alarm, will fit thermostat and temp sensor as it's worth doing anyway, but not convinced that's the going to solve it...............

I would think there would be a market for a set price fully installed monitor (with fitting done at bashes). I have no wish to get under a bonnet but would not have any hesitation in paying a sensible sum for one fitted. I'm sure I am only a small corner of a market that isn't being tapped.

Very good idea. I will be at the Welsh bash and will fit any kits for a couple of beers/bot wine.
I will speak to Ian at said bash and I'm sure we can come up with somthing to help those who want a kit but carn't be done with the fitting. I will be going to 2/3 bashes per year. If there is any other regulars out there (who have fitted a kit) who would like to earn (shall we say £10 as a start) for about an hours work at a bash. Perhaps we could start a list of volunteers ?
Food for thought/comments??
In the meantime, anyone who buys one of my kits for the full e bay price and arranges to come to Somerset can have the kit fitted for free.
