see-saw bleed method

Post by izzizm » Sat Aug 11, 2007 9:49 am

Ive been reading previous posts on the 'see-saw' bleed method for cooling system. There's a few points i'd like to clarify -

firstly, is it a good idea to find a funnel that will attach to the end of the bleed pipe, how do users attach it ?, just find one that will push on ?

secondly, the funnel should be full of water so you can clearly see the water level, and the bubbles escaping ?

thirldy, whilst i am 'see sawing' should i have the cap on the expansion tank, or off ? ie. check water level, replace cap, see saw for a bit, remove cap and top up etc or just leave off and have someone keep topping up ?

lastly, should i rev to enable the water pump to speed-up whilst i am see sawing

any pointers would be great - cheers Dave

Pete's method would be best on the fact sheet, i found the current one a bit flumuxing (?) but description to me was clear and well worded - thanks again - Dave
