Any Special Tools?

Post by JONBONGO » Sat Aug 11, 2007 10:47 am

I have recently purchased a 2.5TD 4wd and as it has little history I am going to service it and change the Cambelt for peace of mind.

Does anyone know if I will need any special tools for this job please? :?:

It has a squeal noise on throttle up but not on tick over which I am told is intake manifold. Does this sound right? Carbed up butterfly in manifold possibly?

Help greatfully received. Cheers

Can't help on the cambelt, although I think someone did post step by step instructions either in the forum or the members-only section.

The noise will almost certainly be the front-most stud on the exhaust manifold (under passenger seat) which has sheared off. Loads on info on here (try a search for "manifold").

Cheers Boys I am sure this will help when I tackle the service on Friday.

Nice to know I'm not alone!

38 mm socket is a help for doing cambelt to turn crank, rather than spinning engine to take up slack on tensioner
