parking sensors

Post by tigs » Fri Aug 10, 2007 7:07 am

I have them fitted, but for some reason they've gone very quiet, i can barely hear them above the Bongos own reversing bleep. Any ideas why this has happened and is it a garage jobbie to put right please?

Hi HH, are the reversing sensors original equipment, or aftermarket items?

I had the bongo's original reverse beep disconnected when i had "proper" reversing sensors fitted,on mine there is a little black box on the nearside rear ( below the rear cig lighter socket) i seem to recall it having a sensitivity setting that can be adjusted, but not a volume adjust, yours may be different however...

Hiya BDC

The place i bought it from fitted em for me before delivery. unfortunatley they are too far away for me to take it back to them. Will looky see for a little black box thanx . . . . . . . . . . I did ask a garage if they could stop the original reverse beep, but they said they didn't know enough about the bongo electrics. :(

Hi,
I placed my reversing beeper under the housing where the handbrake is, it's just a speaker or sonder in a plastic housing which is then wired into the reversing sensor circuitry.
If you can still hear it but it's bot quitere, chances are it's slipped or moved from it's original position.
Try to locate it's whereabouts by following the noise and see if you can then re-fit it into a better position.
Of course, there may be another reason for it becoming quitere, but it's worth a go.
Cheers,
Glyn

HH asked me to thank folks for their replies - she is not connected to the internet for a few days.
