Electrics- help please

Post by Fairburn » Thu Aug 09, 2007 8:21 pm

Having been fiddling around with the rear of the radio to improve speakers (trying to get them to work) I managed to blow the interior fuse (No 1) and found that subsequently the central locking and sliding door electrics on the near side of the vehicle ceased to work. Maybe more worrying, the scavenging fan warning symbol began to flash.

On replacing the 10Amp fuse the ove defects corrcted....so job done. However, should I be concerned re the scavenging fan warning light despite it being off now?

I'm afraid I am an electrical muppet.......due to go on holiday in the bongo at the weekend, so prompt help would be very much appreciated.

Interesting, as number 1 fuse has nothing to do with the doors and fans. However, electrics throw up some weird reactions when a fuse blows, so, as everything is OK now, I suspect your problems have been fixed.

Yes, I had exactly the same happen, when I was rewiring my remote central locking unit......radio and a few other things stopped working and scav. fan light flashing. New fuse no more problems so rest assured.
