Remote locking

Post by MAXANDPADDY » Mon Aug 06, 2007 7:04 pm

No boubt it's been covered before, but can someone please tell me where the remote locking sensor is. Mine works fine one day but not the next. I think the battery in the key is OK. Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips? Thanks Lloyd

firstly check the wires that go through the pillar into the door, as they quite often chaffe and snap.

as for the remote sensor, i think its actually inside the door so you have to take the cover off. but i am not 100% so i could be wrong :?

The radio receiver is inside the driver's door panel.

I would suspect intermittent fractures in the flexible loom 'twixt pillar and door.

My intermittent locking is down to a poor contact in the key fob.

If it's factory fitted remote locking the sensor is behind the drivers door panel just by the handle. I had the same trouble and replaced mine with a remote c/l upgrade kit off ebay for £22 inc. postage. Wiring took a while to figure out but works fine now. Fitting would only take an hour if you deduct the 4 hours taken to work the wiring out!

If you go down this route and want to know how i wired it pm me.
