door handles and switches.. well they're knacked

Post by neepboy » Tue Aug 07, 2007 3:41 pm

Got my new bongo today Hurray :D ....but guess what :? ....on closer inspection the drivers command switch for the pass window doesn't work and the interior door handle insert/cup type thingies are just jabbie shards of plastic really. also heaps of extra and modified switches (switch blanks with holes cutin them and then random switches stuck on top...uuuugly)
so 1. where do I get a cheap replacement double switch ? (someone say 323?)
2. do any other Mazdas have the same door cup insert thing?
3. which Mazdas should I look for replacement switches in?
4. what do I need for a cam belt swap, anything else at the same time?

best of bongoing to you all

oh yeah another thing cause Im a short @rse I didn't check the top of the roof  and oh yes, my more experienced brethern, it does have a bl00dy big scrape right down the centre....and more stonechips than I first noticed and a couple of tiny rust spots above the windscreen and... and.. still I love her :P

Congrats on your new toy!!

For the passengers window make sure you don't have the long switch at 90 deg to the shorter window switches, set in the off position (if that makes sence) as this switch is like a child lock for the passenger window.

all the best.

Hi and welcome

yes a mazda 323 has the same window switch but it may be the wire as it goes from the drivers door to body.
the wires there are weak

If you want all switches to match then a bongo breaker but rocker switches can be got from a parts dealer that do fit and look ok

door cups can be got from the members shop and are not too expensiv and as they seam to break easy its probably best to get new.

If your getting a new cam belt then the tensioner may be changed as well

neepboy,
get down your local breakers and you will find blanks and switches that fit the top row and bottom row of switches. They can come from mid 90s 626, MX6 and 323's. Door inserts I have seen in the MX6 & the passenger door electric window switch looks like the rear blind switches, can't say about the others models. :D
Keep the Faith
