fuel, air block, maybe ?

Post by chris'n'emma » Thu Aug 02, 2007 3:41 pm

Hi all,
I'll start with, I'm mechanically useless, ok, we can't all be.
I'm not sure if my fuel gauge is not working, (showing low), and really my tank is full, or maybe there is an air block/ fuel block, but when I went to fill her up I only managed to put in £7 and it was full, to over flowing.
With a 150 mile run tomorrow, I could do with any help and quick responces, how can I tell if its full if the gauge is not working? How can I get more fuel in the tank if there a block?
thanks in advance.

Check the fuel sender unit earth wire. Under the carpet , middle row of seats slightly to the right of centre. It's a common fault. If you carn't get any more fuel in the tank then it is full (65 lts) no matter what your guage says.
