Wind deflector

Post by SilverEther » Sat Jul 28, 2007 5:49 pm

The wind is nasty ... it blew a display board up in the air and broke the wind deflector on the passenger window ... my board/my window.

Is it replaceable?
If yes, where from and how?

SE is sad ...

ok think we can fix this if we can get it off any ideas ... does it come of without demolishing the door...like does it just clip off?

You could just take them both off then you will have a matching pair. I'm not that fussed on them - they just seem to block visability on mine.

Dude,

straight forward job to replace it providing you can get another,

1, there are two or three clips that hold the W/Deflector onto the door they come off by splitting the little black poppers on them, the top side of the black popper is smooth like a mushroom, get something flat and prize it up to split it( do that to all of them) then the bottom part either falls or is pushed out,

2, This is the tricky part as you have to then physically pull the W/Deflector off the door as it is held on by double sided sticky tape, clean all that off the door and put the new double sided tape on the new W/deflector not the door,

3, if the little metal clips come out just pop them back in the inside of the rubber on the door and match them up to the holes on the new W/deflector once this is done peal off the seal on the new double sided sticky tape that you are going to fit to the door and push it on, once that is on push the little black clips through the holes again and pop them together,

4, have a cuppa job done app 20mins

one thing the double sided tape i used was about 1-2 mm thick not like selotape thickness but thicker

Tis done.... we were lucky really as it was the end of the deflecter that was broken not the centre ... so it has remodeled and given a bit of a curve :D so thanks for info. Oh and why do bloody double sided tapes stick when you dont want them too ...
