Expansion Tank Cap

Help.. We need to buy a new cap as our one doesnt seal properly any more. Have looked on previous threads and have noticed advice to buy one from BongoBits. Although this is a radiator cap? On our Bongo the two caps a slightly different. Is there a difference and does it matter?

Yes it is a radiator cap but it is 1.1 bar rating. The 'small Japanese standard cap' as available from the likes of Halfords and motor factors has a 0.9 bar rating. Not sure if the difference in rating makes a difference to the performance but do you want to take the chance?

thats what our confusion was. I guess others have replaced the cap with the 1.1bar one and had no problems so think will have to get that and see what happens. Thanks for the reply.

if you use ebay type in "mazda bongo radiator" and there is one for sale think its about a fiver

yellow cap expansion tank, red cap radiator dont mix them up
