Maximum load on roof?

Hi all

I have fashioned a Mild Steel frame to hold my Solar Panel so that I can bolt it to the rear roof rack mounts.

It seems to weigh about 9kgs, including the 18Watt panel, but I am a little concerned about the additional strain that this will place on the roof raising mechanism.

I know people fit roof boxes and raise and lower their roofs with these empty and they are normally well in excess of 10kgs in weight but I wondered if people could give me any personal experience of what they regularly do with their roofs.

9Kg won't cause any problems.
