Stop the beep
Stop the beep, when you want to leave your keys in the ignition and the door open without cutting any wires.
All I did was cut a 40mm x 40mm 90º bracket in two.

Find a screw the same diameter as the one from the switch but a little longer. Added a spring washer and three flat washers.

Screwed it into place and I just turn it up if I want to leave the door open with the keys in the ignition.

Handy! It can get annoying but has its uses. To stop it permanently, remove the black cover that's under the steering wheel; you'll see a white plug with 2 thin wires. Disconnect it.

I found pictures when I was looking to do this some weeks ago. But I'm sure the bleeper box was shown as being near the driver's right foot.
There is a vid on you tube showing how to disconnect the bleep box completely (the one by the driver's foot) and some suggestion that cutting the white/red wire just stops the key in ignition beep.
What is being suggested here sounds like a different solution to me, but maybe it's the same solution worded differently.....

Beep - No Beep
Just done the Allens Solution. 15 mins - perfec!
Undo three screws under steering cowling, gently prise top and bottom halves apart, remove bottom half, disconnect white wire at connector but left it 'in place' but not 'pushed in' so if in future there is any need to reconnect it can be done without any dismantling, you will be able to just push the connections back into the connector - click! from under the steering cowling.
No more BEEPS when key is in ignition but still have lights on and reverse beeps, I did not try roof but assume it will be OK from previous posts.
Peace at last.................................

Help.
I have my steering column shroud apart and have found a small white connector under the column, with two wires going in (one plain white and one blue/purple) and two wires coming out (green and red/yellow).
The two wires coming out go up to near where the key goes in the ignition.
I have unplugged this whole connector, and the beeping has stopped when the key is in and door open.
Is that OK, or should I only have disconnected the white wire ?
What else might I have messed up by taking the whole connector apart, including the ingoing blue/purple wire ?

You don't need to cut the wire, just unplug the connector.

Just done as said on here, remove cowl etc and disconnected plug and peace at last. After putting it all cowl back together, and rescrewing I noticed that you might be able to disconnect without removing cowl. A long, thin, flat bladed screw driver to release the catch, and pull out with other hand. All that you need to move is the steering wheel height adjuster. (pull down)
Plug semi out
plug out, no more beep with door open/key in. horay!!
