Wheel Nuts

Post by KeithB » Mon Jun 25, 2007 1:39 pm

I have just managed to source what I have bee told are original bongo 15" alloys to replace the standard steels that I have . Am I right in assuming that i will need different size nuts and if can anyone let me know what size i need to buy?

Thanks

The existing wheel nuts are black and old. Anyone know where I can source some nice new shiny ones?

As Keefy suggested, try e=bay ( about a£1 each ) keith b.

They will need to be replaced anyway,as the nuts used on the steel wheels are not compatable with the alloy wheels.

After a while, you will find the steel wheel nuts will bond to alloys, making them near impossible to shift. (even with copperslip)

In addition, you may find the opposite is also true, where you need to keep on re-tightening the steel nuts to the alloys... If this scenario occurs, then the mating face of the nuts differ to the flange on the wheel.

I think, (dont quote me) the mating face is a 60 degree angle with mazda alloys.

got some today from my local Mazda dealer who kindly gave me trade discount as I was buying a full set. So far they have been very helpful with my bongo queries and seem very attuned to all things imported. A few years ago my wife had a Eunos and they did all the servicing etc as well

Excellent!... glad they could be of assistance to you!

I've got to the stage now, where i dont bother with main dealers,at all for anything. You are lucky that you have built up a rappor with your dealer,i, however didn't have the patience  I,m glad you did
