Droplinks...is it ok to fit just one?

I'm getting clunking underneath front end of van....I can feel play at one end of one droplink........all the rest have no play at all, and the anti roll bar brackets and bushes seem fine........is it ok just to replace the drop link with the play or is it recommended to replace as a pair?

It is good practice to always replace both sides when dealing with suspension, be it shocks, balljoints or bushes. It's not a huge saving to fit only one and think about it, if one side has failed, how long before the other side goes?

if i was you i would do all of them, i have just done mine all round, best thing i have done to date, i had clonking noise all over the place, so was a bit suprised to find only one of the drop links looked busted up ( it fell apart ), that was a front one, the rear ones looked in good condition but most clonking came from the rear, all is perfect now, bongo feels much better to drive, the only major problem i had was on the front ones, both top bolts were solid, even after overnight soaking of WD40, had to drill both of them out in the end, ( spanner and hammer rash was great!! ) enjoy !!!!

I have just bought two front drop links, but when i tried to get the old ones off I ended up breaking my socket set.Any ideas how to get the rusted on old ones off without losing any digits.Ive been spraying them with WD 40 for about a week but they are stuck tight,so maybe a garage job.

It's always best to do both. Can confirm from another thread that vectra b (2000 model) drop links are the same as bongo (have a vectra and have measured them)

I ended up breaking my socket,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,up grade to snap on

.... you could try a blow torch, a bit of heat often gets things moving..

I use angle grinders all day and drills ,but i think i`d rather let someone else sit under a wheel arch and struggle to get this off . i`ve got better things to do. also i`m crap at mechanics lol
