Re: Abs sensor alternative
There are several discussions and ideas for repair / replacement but sometimes a bit of a pain to locate due to the lack of searching available on three-letter acronyms! See here for starters viewtopic.php?f=3&t=74306

Re: Abs sensor alternative
I have just replaced my nearside ABS sensor with a Daewoo Lanos /Nexia sensor A39-10456266 less than £6.00 on e-bay ,requires wire's altering and mods to the fixing bracket but well worth doing .

Re: Abs sensor alternative
ABS alternative sensor. first assemble you're parts 1, Daewoo Lanos (1997-) Nubria (1997-05) ABS wheel sensor left or right not important as you will be cutting off the metal bracket . E-Bay item 334132988683 price £5.43.download/file.php?mode=view&id=881
2, 12v 2Pin cable wire connector plug E-Bay item 363742845394 £5.99 for 5.
Take the sensor and carefully cut off the metal bracket taking care not to cut the plastic sensor.![Image]()
take the male part of the cable connector and remove the red clip at the front of the plug exposing the contacts, then push the wires from the back and remove the contacts with the wires attached out of the plug. throw away the plug , attach the wires and contacts to the sensor .
Bond the connectors and wires to the sensor with JB weld - set aside to cure (overnight).
this can be disregarded if you can get you're hands on a daewoo abs sensor plug ( good luck with that one). Take another plug wire connector and solder the wires to the ones from the sensor now you have a sensor connected to a plug .
Remove you're original sensor be careful not to shear off the retaining bolt , cut the wire to the original sensor close to the sensor ,the sensor will be destroyed during removal from the original sensor you will need to retain the metal bracket as this will attach the new sensor . cut the old bracket across the large hole replicating the bracket you cut off the daewoo sensor.
put a 1.5mm washer onto the daewoo sensor and fit into original location useing the original cut down bracket you may have to clean the sensor location hole with a file or sandpaper . fit the socket end of the connector to the original wiring solder and heat shrink and you are done.![Image]()

Re: Abs sensor alternative
I’m going to replace both my front ABS sensors as the warning light appeared and they’re showing as faulty on the blink test, codes 11 and 12.
Any updates on suitable replacements.?
Scanning the tinterweb I’ve seen a couple that might be useable alternatives to the Daewoo suggested.
The ones I saw that may work include a Ford Ranger part, and also a replacement of only the sensor itself.
Obviously there’ll be some re-wiring involved whichever I get.
Just wondering if anyone had done theirs lately and had success with any other sensors.??
Cheers

Re: Abs sensor alternative
These are significantly cheaper and come with all brackets required..
Re: Abs sensor alternative
Alternatively, without brackets but with no need to mess with any wiring, these look suitable too.
Re: Abs sensor alternative
Any Bongoers out there used either, or the supplier.?
Re: Abs sensor alternative
Found and fitted these in the the end for my ‘98 diesel..
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/326424644295 ... Sw9vBlWIJn
I messaged the seller who asked for my reg number and advised on the correct parts, handily the even included a link to the item.
They fitted perfectly, and after applying the discount shown, were £88 for the pair, complete with brackets and have a 5-year warranty.
Not as cheap as the Daewoo ones suggested previously, but far less pfaff than cutting wires on alternative parts to suit imo.
One point to note regarding removal..
As some have experienced, the bolt holding it in place is prone to shear, I found the old mechanics trick of giving it a couple of well placed whacks with a suitable hammer (I used a drift for ‘improved accuracy’) was sufficient to ‘break the seal’ and ease removal.
(Sadly I only remembered the trick having sheared the first and had to drill/re-tap the thread).
The sensor hole required a little clean up, I used a small file to do so, and I liberally applied copper grease so things should be simpler in future (should they need removal).

Re: Abs sensor alternative
Just jumping on this
I've got the bolt out and would like to pull the sensor out undamaged. Any idea how? Seems like the bracket (shaped like an egg/teardrop) is fused on!
Thanks
