Re: Struggling with hills at speed

Hard to guess.
Your garage will be able to investigate turbo issues. Before then you can check around the turbo.
And check the small turbo pipe hasn't blown off.
It does happen sometimes..
It's by the diesel pump.

Re: E10 Fuel

Thanks Geoff. Yes it would be great to have that information. Those components all wear out eventually. I expect those now being produced are ethanol tolerant? It would be handy if Mazda clarified their statement to explain why E10 shouldn't be used. In the meantime the experience of those using E10...

Re: E10 Fuel

Several Bongo owners were asking me for clarity on whether their model was OK with E10. So I shared the useful information Ian posted. Re: E10 Fuel by Ian » Sun Aug 08, 2021 7:24 am The exact wording of the statement issued by the Japanese Association of Automotive Manufacturers on behalf of Mazda s...

Re: bongo completely dead, no lights no power no crank.

Good you're on the road again.
Electrical problems can sometimes take a while to pinpoint.
Last week I heard of a non-start 2.5d.
They changed the battery and checked fuel supply system.
But it was just a corroded spade connector.
No feed to the glowplug relay.

Re: Door cards

Yes lots of people re-cover them. I've seen amazing styles. Fabric, superhero comic pages (with a sealer on top) the wipe-off vinyl that's used as tablecloths etc. Getting the panel off is the most challenging part. They're held on by clips. You can buy a trim removal tool (ebay, amazon, sealey etc)...

Re: Bongo stuck gear

I looked at what you said your garage did. There's nothing that suggests they caused this. Especially as it was fine for 2 weeks after they worked on it. It possible something has worked its way lose or failed since then. As Geoff said, first thing to do is check gearbox fluid level. This has to be ...

Re: Mattress for downstairs

Aldi and Lidl often get the inflatable mattresses in. Lots of Bongo owners have bought them over the years. Just check the dimensions of any before you buy.

Fily-by-wire. Also consider fuel control unit inside pump.
It's a pity the garage can't get it scanned. Takes away some of the guesswork.

Re: Get me some (wheel) nuts!

Yes. I don't know the weight rating of that wheel. You'll have to check it's OK for the Bongo.
