Re: Timing belt change
The belts are for the alternator and water pump (dual one) and a single one to the air con. See http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/code=1580B&cat=a2ajra0a&vin=&imgno=.html

Drive Belts - 2.5 Diesel
Hi all
After some advice. I have a 2.5 Diesel that developed a little bit of a squeak at tick over that I was sure was from one of the belts. Probably the Air con as it got worse when switched on.
Plus ... but not fully.
Seems to be coming from the alternator belts as Aircon on or off makes no difference ...

Re: Alternator belts....too long?
We are discussing the diesel engine? (Sorry if there are clues that are obvious to those that know!)
If anything, I found new belts tight to fit, even with the alternator fully in to the block.
Is it at all possible there is an incorrect pulley diameter, perhaps on the replacement water pump?
A wee ...
