Re: Oil seals in rear axle
Once the handbrake shoes have been removed it reveals the three bolts that hold the triangular plate onto the brake backplate (two 14mm and the top one with two 30mm flats). I'll try to remove these tomorrow but it appears that the handbrake cable mounting on the backplate and the brake line have to ...

Re: Oil seals in rear axle
Got the seals from AVA, but I haven't got a 23mm socket for the rear of the brake carrier, doh. 23mm and 21mm (wheel nuts) ordered as my socket set didn't have them and access is limited for a spanner round the back. I dont want to shag the nut, so far the 14mm brake bolts and nuts have come off ...

Re: Oil seals in rear axle
The seals I believe we require are 26-154 and 26-157

The seal we dont need i assume is 49-150 which comes with this little diagram I've attempted to translate but I'm stuck as to what SST is!!!?

Re: driver window switch, ball bearing!
If its lost I suspect the window lock switch will still function but without the satisfying click!

Re: window switch
Just cleaned my window and blind switches using the YouTube tutorial and the excellent instructions on this forum, thanks. Even solved the spring and ball bearing mystery!
If you've been similarly mystified and have a partially disassembled (but cleaned) drivers side switch in your hand here is my ...

Re: driver window switch, ball bearing!
To reassemble remove the dangling white block attached to the window lock switch (in the black outer housing) by depressing the clips with two tiny Allen keys through the windows either side of that switch (next to the switch pivot on the top).
With this block removed place it into its receptacle ...

On reassembly the pump body was leaking so I ordered a mx5 pump from eBay and removed the spade connectors from the harness connector to enable reconnection to the differently arranged plug on the mx5 pump, hey presto!

Re: Silly question I know. but where is the horn hidden.
The wiring diagram shows two live feeds to the "NO" and "COIL" pins on the relay. Using a piece of wire I can make the horn activate with one that reads at 12.23V but not the other that only has 11.8V.
I dont understand as the wiring diagram shows they feed from the same rail, can i bridge between ...

Brilliant, rear was all rusty inside, now it works. On reassembly neither worked until I disassembled and cleared the penetrating spray out with GT85 and cleaned all the electrical connectors! Glad I checked first!

Tested batteries

Tested relay (closest one to the drivers indicator assembly is the one) I disassembled it following a youtube tutorial
Fitted new horn
Multimeter shows a change between earth and the single horn connector but from memory it is only 6v ish, maybe not enough to activate ...

Re: Silly question I know. but where is the horn hidden.
Thanks I'll give it a go, the relay boxes will be a bit difficult to remove as the bolt head is really corroded and I couldn't get a 10/11/12mm socket to get purchase.
I don't really understand the configuration of the relays, I assumed just one would be responsible for the horn but when I swapped ...

Re: Silly question I know. but where is the horn hidden.
my horn button just makes the relay click, the horn itself works when I power it from the battery. When I mess around with the relays nearest the front drivers side light cluster the clicking sometimes stops but rearranging their order doesnt help.
By elimination: the horn button works, the relay ...
