Probably best to change the fuel filter (cannister) and also check the state of the "banjo" filter either could be causing the problem and would need to be changed if you do have "diesel bug"!
The banjo filter is shown below;
Thanks Geoff.
Are there instructions anywhere for the whole procedure ...

restarting after 18 months SORN?
Hello all
Our bongo has been SORN for 18 months, sitting untouched. (Yeah, bad. I know).
I want to see if I can get her back to life. Any suggestions/recommendations? So far:
1. Battery has been disconnected whilst she's been hibernating. Now fully charged & re-connected
2. Checked oil & water

Re: smoke + rough idle at startup - leaking diesel pump?
Unfortunately Lawson Diesel were Wound up in March this year, and unfortunately again the price you were quoted would probably be for a reconditioned unit.
Ah - that would be why the phone number was out of service when I tried earlier. Oh dear (on Lawson demise + price)

smoke + rough idle at startup - leaking diesel pump?
Hello all
Our Bella is suffering as per subject. On startup, there's white smoke and tickover is very lumpy. It's like a mis-firing petrol engine - except she's diesel (SGL5). Things improve when she's warmed up, with no obvious loss of power.
At the last service, it was noted there was some ...

fiamma bike rack + spoiler: cut or remove?
Evening all.
I've just acquired a fiamma carry bike for our Bella. Put it on yesterday (having removed spoiler obviously) and reckon it'll need a fair chunk cut out the spoiler to fit.
On the other hand, there's the holes in the tailgate. If I leave the spoiler off I'd need to fill/seal them ...

Re: winter tyres 2011-2012
All,
Folks, belated thanks for all responses. Summarising it would seem:
- Quatrac 2's were good but no longer made
- Quatrac 3's are newer, less common (so far) but look promising.
- Only other experience is with Gislaved Nord Frost
- No responses for the Nankangs
I'm dithering. There are 4 ...

winter tyres 2011-2012
Hello folks,
Apologies for re-visiting this topic, but most previous postings are a few years old.

- which tyres?
- which suppliers?
- are the insurance rumblings still rumbling or is it all over now (we're ...

Re: Is it possible/easy to remove roof tent from AFT? - Fixe
Took a while, but at last our roof tent has a brand new, hole-free mozzie net.
Repair was carried out by Scottish Mountain Gear in Musselburgh (just outside Edinburgh).
Very pleased with result. They removed and stitched in a completely new mozzie net and result looks really good. Very high ...

Re: Is it possible/easy to remove roof tent from AFT?
When you refit, araldite helps to hold the screws back in place.
Thanks. Do you mean to araldite the screws into the threads, or the threads into the roof?
Had been wondering about that. Some of the threads came out their housings in the roof so was going to araldite those back in.
The screws ...

Re: Is it possible/easy to remove roof tent from AFT?
Anyway, the jammy git managed to get his tent removed with no problems. =D> That'll teach me to issue premature warnings  (though I know several on here have - like me - had real problems trying to remove those screws)
