Re: Hitachi Alternator noisy bearings
The garage didn't say the belt was tight I'm just wondering what could cause the bearings to be knackered in a New 2 year old alternator.

Hitachi Alternator noisy bearings
Hi guys, my bongo started making some new noises yesterday and the garage told me today the bearings on the alternator have had it.
Is this normal for a unit just under 2 years old?

Re: Help please! - stuck trying to replace an alternator! H
how loose should the belts be before removing them?
do they need levering off or should they just come off easy?
is it OK to let the belts hang or do they need to be held on to?

Hi, I have a new alternator from Albaston that I'm trying to fit.
I have disconnected the battery, Removed the pivot bolt on the bottom and removed the bolt on the tension slide bracket at the top and disconnected all the cables.

Do I have 4WD or not?
I have a question, are all Bongos 4WD? I assumed they are, however I unfortunately got stuck in some mud today and found that whilst my rear wheels were spinning in the mud the front wheels were doing nothing at all?
This would lead me to believe that I only have rear wheel drive or that there is ...

I'll have a rummage around in the day light I think, what am I looking for exactly? Is it a small relay unit or something larger?

Re: Electrical question(s) and confusion!
Just updated my profile - I'm in sunny Eastbourne on the South Coast.
Not sure if I have a split charge unit or not to be honest, from what I can see there is a power unit / a fuse board unit with RCD for 2 circuits / a DS300 UK unit which has fuses for the various appliances and the control panel ...

Electrical question(s) and confusion!
Hi, being a complete newbie to the Bongo (less than a week), I have been discovering how everything works and have some questions about the use of Batteries (main one and leisure one) and the DS300uk Zig unit that is installed.
