Re: Air conditioning and full side conversions

Thanks for the prompt replies.
Just as I feared, and we have been running around with the aircon switched on and off for six months so my guess is the pump will be shot as well now.
It was good to be able to identify the part on lushprojects and I have sent a pic or two of the damage to the ...

Air conditioning and full side conversions

My rear air con was removed as part of the full side conversion before we picked it up.
I'm not quite sure what this entails so I'd like your help to figure it out.
I also have a poorly performing air con and want to sort it, so have had a look underneath today to see where pipes go.
I have the ...

Re: Air con temperature

Thanks for the reply, as the 18 is just about acceptable, I think it's time for a gas change.
18 is mild to me, in fact balmy compared to when the mother-in-law is on board

Re: Air con temperature

We have the later climate control gadget.
It only seems to be able to be set to go down to 18 degrees on the dial.
Is this correct?
I'd like to set it lower but it won't go.

Re: Expansion and air cavitation observation

I'm sure you are right. I just had this notion that you could have a topped up header, no alarm sounding yet with nothing in the head except bubbles.
Taking it further, I'd even be tempted to stick a high-low alarm on it too, just to be doubly extra super sure I didn't get an air head thing ...

Expansion and air cavitation observation

This idea keeps bugging me;
Would it be any help to add another expansion vessel in line on the bleed pipe?
If it was sealed throughout and located at the high point under the seat and the overflow pipe onto the plugged dead end as usual, you could still bleed it as normal but you could also later ...

Re: New Exhaust

If you fitted a system with smaller silencer boxes but same level of sound output, wouldn't that mean there was a fair chance that to get the noise down, it would need to be more restrictive to gas flow and therefore hinder performance and or economy?

Re: Intermittent stiff/screechy sliding door

If you want a weather proof solution, pop into a motorcycle shop and ask for a tin of chain wax spray. Make sure it's wax rather than lube, and things you spray will not get greasy and collect dirt.

It is generally white coloured so doesn't look messy and a can will last you years - you can do all ...

Re: Help needed please with brake calliper......

Leaving the bleed nipple loose will be ok as they will be drained anyway. Cap off is for new pads in existing undrained system.
I use a small piece of wood (or old brake pad) across both pistons and one of those cheap pump action G clamps from B&Q to ease them back in.

Re: Help needed please with brake calliper......

Hiya
I'm a newbie / long time lurker here but I've rebuilt a lot of calipers (Nissin and Brembo) in my time.
In the photo the dust seal only is dislodged not the seal. I'd say not the culprit here.
The reason the calipers bind is usually that corrosion occurs under the seals in the rebate in the ...
