Re: Whining Noise after Wheel Spin Episode,Differential??
Looking at other posts in the forums the same noise has been experience by others when the psf is low. The wheel spin episode and the noise occurring shortly after now looks like a coincidence. I will top up the psf and report back. Does the bongo have special needs when it comes to power steering f...

Vacarious Books also publish a book called "All The Aires" which lists all the hundreds of free stopovers. They are divided up by region and have pictures and gps positions too. I've done many times now and like the municipals as they're good and cheap but its always handy to know where th...

Re: Whining Noise after Wheel Spin Episode,Differential??
Thanks Helen and Simon. It made the trip ok and that is very slack of me not to have changed the diff oil. Ive done just about everything else on a regular basis. Didn't occur to me. I tend to agree with you simon about the noise probably not the diff. The noise increases when turning right and beco...

Whining Noise after Wheel Spin Episode,Differential??
I got stuck reversing out of the garden about a week back, the back wheels (or at least one) were spinning on the gravel. It took about 6 attempts, normally I would have got out and put something under the wheel. Afterwards I noticed a whine from the engine in low gear, its not there or audible in h...

Re: Air con re-gas
ATS Euromaster are doing a deal for around £45. I got mine done there. Its a nice deal especially if you have the dual aircon (back and front) as its a flat price. you my need to supply them with the specs. which are available on a fact sheet in the members area I think. In 8yrs I had never had mine...

Small Hoses whats the Internal Bore Size ?
Im off on a 2 week Euro drive down to Spain. Want to take a section of flexible hose incase of the unthinkable. Ive replaced all the large bore hoses and a couple of others. Im intrested in the internal bore size of the header tank to radiator hose and the rear and front heater matrix hoses. I think...

Re: Does Cam Belt Power Coolant Pump ?
Sorry Chaps forgot to check back after the intial answers. I bought the Bongo in 2005 it had about 30,000 km on the clock but the dealer couldnt provide any evidence of that. So I insisted the cam belt was changed before purchase. Changed it again at 117,000km and its now approaching 200,000km and t...

Re: Metallic thump
Couple of long shots, I had a similar metal clunking when going over speed bumps or rough ground, I changed arb front droplinks and rear rollbar links which can make clunking noises, they were due for change anyway. Still had the noise. Turned out the jack and mechanism that raises the jack up were ...

Coolant Alarm -Access To Cigarette Lighter Feed Advice
Morning men!... I'm half way through fitting a coolant alarm on my Bongo. I'd like to run a feed off the rear of the cigarette lighter socket. I have taken a couple of the plastic panels off on the lower dash, I can feel the back of the lighter socket but access is difficult. I've read a few of the ...

Coolant Hose Sizes / Specs ?
Is there a list floating around anywhere of the coolant hose sizes used in the Diesel Bongo 2.5td 1996 onwards. I'm most intrested in the smaller bore hoses, header tank to top of radiator, front and rear heater hoses etc. Thanks
