Re: "Total" coolant loss (V6)
I'm afraid that my mechanical skills are limited to fixing pedal bikes, unfortunately I'm "one of them" who would be looking for a garage to do the work for me - especially as this is our only vehicle. At least identifying the leak will be a start! Pedal bike engineering is totally adequa...

Re: "Total" coolant loss (V6)
Ady (Northern bongolow) built a device for testing the cooling systems pressure - simplle, cheap, and easy to use. If you fill your system and pump it up with this device it will quickly become apparent where the leak is. Nice piece of kit.

Am I right in thinking that the scavenger fan is not as essential in cooling the engine as the two rad fans?At what temp is the fan sensor set?I believe it to be 90deg approx. Can anyone be more exact?I ask this because my experience so far with the TM-2 is that the temp is OK ( 92-94 ) while in mot...

Just a tip - DON'T grease the bearings cos they are graphite impregnated 'Oilite' bushes.
Clean them up and apply thin oil (let the oil soak into the bearing).

Re: Horn (again!), and blowers
My horn stopped working too, so I'll be very interested in the replies you get on this score. From what I understand, to get at the wiring to check can be a bit hairy cos the air-bag is involved, and you don't want that blowing up in yer face!! On the blower issue, I recently stripped spenners blowe...

I have recently acquired a 2.5 td bongo freindee off my folks, it had a hard life as being they were using it as a work vehicle, so its in need of some TLC. I have done oil swap, check brakes ect, oh and had timing belt changed. I am having issues with cooling though, she boiled over on me the othe...

Ady composed this recently. Did spenners a few days ago following these instructions. Once again, Ady strikes GOLD. Northern Bongolow wrote: to remove the fan.2 bolts hold the fuse box in place, remove this, and pull to one side. This was written by Northern bongolow remove the air in ducting. behind ...

Re: To Radweld or not to Radwled - that is the question...
If I understand it correctly, this stuff works by lining the entire system with a gungey coat of sealant. It may get you home in an emergency but at some point the horrors of having all the plumbing including sixteen or so hoses, the rad & two heater matrixs being clogged up with even more slud...

Re: Leak and Nottingham bongo garage?
If you haven't lost any coolant, then it MAY be condensate from your aircon system. (There is a small rubber pipe in that location.) If this is the case, then there is nothing to worry about. ps. As D&P says, think twice about introducing radweld into the system. It may (just may) cure a leak, b...

Re: Bleeding with a funnel
IMHO, your system sounds as if it is doing exactly as it should. Liquids will always take the easiest route – ALWAYS. Before the stat opens, the pump is dragging coolant FROM the head and shoving it via the top hose to the expansion tank, and from there, back to the pump via a very small orifice. So...

Re: injector seats !!!
has anybody ever taken out the seats for the injectors and put them in a new head, or do i need new ones ? In answer to your question, yes - When we replaced spenners head we put the old injectors back after cleaning them in diesel. Been working for more than a year now with no problems. When remov...
