Re: Passing of a friend, Alant54

Yes, Alan was at the first Bongo meet we went to, at Silverdale in 2007. Condolences to friends & family from all at Team Muz HQ.

Re: Farewell Harry Ashcroft

PS, this was probably one of the best days ever, arranged by Harry:

Re: Farewell Harry Ashcroft

Very sad indeed. We too first met Harry at Silverdale, 2007 it was for us when we were investigating Bongos, had visited a few dealers and wanted to see the 'human' side of the van. We were in a regular car at that point but Harry welcomed us as day-visitors and directed us to various vans with all ...

Happy 21st, Bongy!

Thanks to the Russian Bongo website I’m able to confirm that today is our Bongo’s 21st Birthday. As Bongy has taken us far & wide and been everything we ever hoped for and far more, it would be rude not to mark the occasion. And on Thursday, as a special treat we’ll bring him to meet a lot of the fr...

Re: Inner Sill Welding - Bongo Spares?

Bongo Spares will do the job right for you but it's not a 'while-u-wait' service, you'll have to leave it with them for several days and get a train to/from Sowerby Bridge. But they will do a proper job for you.

Re: Off to Scotland

Thanks all for your thoughts on campsite availability. Will chance it, as you suggest, in less popular areas, and once I know when I will be ready to go over to Skye, make enquiries then. Sounds good. If it looks (last minute) like we are not going to make the bash then I will PM you some Isle of S...

Re: Off to Scotland

One slight correction to the above, the wild-camping magnet at Calgary Bay on the isle of Mull was absolutely rammed, and mostly with people who looked like they'd been there a good while. So we sought out our own little haven elsewhere and had a lovely night - and went back to exactly the same spot...

Re: Off to Scotland

The main concern that I am now feeling is, I had planned to travel without pre-booking, but am now wondering if I will experience problems finding just one space in campsites if I just turn up. Time will tell. I do not want to have to be in a certain place on a certain day. That's not how I travel....

Re: From one B-word to another

Oh yeah, how could I forget.... Yes brilliant! These are kbg's favourite (top 3) sources of dry cured bacon when out and about: 1. Roberts TJ and Sons, on Bala high street. 2. Setchfield RP, on East Keswick high street, 3 miles from Wetherby off A1(M). 3. Mettricks, on Glossop high street in the Da...

Re: From one B-word to another

Normal B-words (on a family-friendly forum) would be things like barbecue, bockwürst, bratwürst and burgers. Maybe Bordeaux, Burgundy or Beaujolais if you're into a spot of red and maybe Barcelona, Berlin or Blackburn if you're talking tours. I think the best word I coined was Bongolianism (do a for...

Re: Team Muz Wales tour 2010

You may wonder why, from Cae Du in Gwynedd on our last night, we ventured south into Powys and then Dyfed to Borth. This was in search of the lost forest, some Scottish geezer on the recent "Coast" series on the BBC was waxing lyrical about how Cardigan Bay was once a fertile land and to prove it t...
