Did this today, following advice above. Very much appreciated.
Removed 5 screws from the pulled out inserts, one screw was destroyed so I glued it and lowered the roof carefully onto wood to force it up and hold it in place until cured. JIS screwdrivers are mandatory.

Thank you for the reply Bongolian, if you did manage to get any pics they would be much appreciated. Just trying to get my head around if I would get years or a week out of it. There was also a hose wet and a single drip below it on the road.
