I rang SGS and provided them with the measurements and part number and they do not sell a strut that matches dimensionally or have a listed alternate of the shelf part number. It would seem these two bongo's sharing the same roof and tent type visually and the same damper part number S52H 56 940 ...

I've had this issue. Managed to fix it by having the turbo overhauled. The company I used just stripped the turbo cleaned it and re-assembled with a rebalance. Cost around £200.

Did you find a solution in the end? I am looking to replace my struts and my van is a 1999 diesel with the same tent as yours and the struts have the same code on them, S52H 56 940.
